Museum of Watercolor

The Museum of Watercolor is a public collection of watercolors that began in 1989 with the donation of one hundred watercolors by the artist J. Martinez Lozano to the City Council of Llançà.

Currently the museum has, in addition, works by other renowned artists such as Ramon Reig, JoaquimTorroella Sibecas, Lumbreras and Vicente Ballester.

The Dalí Theatre-Museum, opened in 1974, was built on the remains of the old  Figueres theater and contains the broadest range of works spanning the artistic career of Salvador Dalí (1904-1989), from hisearliest artistic experiences and his surrealist creations until the art works of the last years of his life.

Some of the most outstanding works on exhibition are: Port Alghero (1924), The Spectre of Sex Appeal(1932), Soft Self Portrait with Fried Bacon (1941), Poetry of America, the Cosmic Athletes (1943) , Galarina(1944-45), Basket of bread (1945), Atomic Leda (1949), the apotheosis of the Dollar (1965), Galatea of ​​the Spheres (1952) and Dawn, Noon, afternoon and Evening (1979).
Also there are other artists that Dalí wanted to include: El Greco, Mariano Fortuny, Modest Urgell, Ernest Meissonier, Marcel Duchamp, Wolf Vostell, and Anthony Pitxot Evarist Vallès, among others.

The Dalí Theatre-Museum, should be viewed as a whole, as the great work of Salvador Dalí, as everythingin it was conceived and designed by the artist to offer visitors a genuine experience and explore him in hiscaptivating and unique world.

The monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is one of the most iconic of Romanesque architecture in Catalonia,the monastery is located in a  characteristic location prime that dominates the Cap de Creus and has anexceptional panorama.

Built in the tenth century, the Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is the best example ofRomanesque art in the surrounding 
region of Girona. The building of the monastery is one of the mostremarkable Romanesque church, a temple into a Latin cross with a 16 meters nave, supported by doublepillars and columns that make it a unique building. They also emphasize the belfry and tower defense, bothbuilt in the twelfth century.

Peralada Castle

The Peralada Castle is a fortress of the fourteenth century located in the town of Peralada. The castle, surrounded by gardens, houses the Casino Peralada.

Appendix of Peralada 
Castle, there is the Convent del Carme, a fourteenth-century Carmelite convent that houses the museum of the castle. The museum contains one of the private collections of art in Catalonia.The cloister and the church, home to a collection of stone sculpture of Sant Pere de Rodes and Besalú.

The museum also houses a collection of ancient glass pieces and made â€‹â€‹2500 a collection of 1000 piecesof pottery dating from the fourteenth and nineteenth centuries. In addition, it houses paintings and furniture of the sixteenth century.

The library file contains 80000 volumes from the ninth century.

Finally there is the wine museum, located in the medieval cellars where some of these wines and caves are made int Peralada Castle.

Cap de Creus is the leader of the Alt Empordà coast, located at the northern end of the Costa Brava, at the end of a small peninsula that juts into the sea that separates the Mediterranean and Gulf of Roses, south of the Gulf of Lion, north. This head is the easternmost point of the Iberian Peninsula.

It is a steep and rocky hill of 672 m above sea level, which stands on a small peninsula forming the Mediterranean character mountainous, cut by numerous carving in the form of small coves, designed based on the structure of the board. From a geological point of view and morphological part of the foothills of theeastern Pyrenees, plunging into the sea by the bulk of Cap de Creus. About granitic terrains and layered structure of the Ordovician (Paleozoic).

It is influenced by the waves, caused primarily by the wind, the name given to a cold wind blowing from the north and northwest, and the winds. The Mediterranean climate, characterized by a gentle heat andmoderate rainfall.

The Serra of l'Albera is a mountain range located between the plains of the Empordà and Roussillon. Itsridge marks the dividing line south of Alt Empordà, with the regions of Catalonia and Roussillon NorthernVallespir. Extends from Perthus Pass to the Mediterranean Sea, between the Red and the North coast of the Costa Brava.

One of the last foothills of the Pyrenees, while the low-rise and erosion of mountains whose characteristicsare very different from the central axis of the ridge.

This natural location allows to observe the transition between the species of the Pyrenees and the mosttypical Mediterranean.

The higher regions have a varied vegetation, with cork, oak, chestnutbeech forests and alpine meadows.As most closer to the sea, the mountains and lost vegetation is scarce dominated by oaks, shrubs andbushes.
